Venezuela’s Orchestra of the Penitentiary System Performs

Venezuela's Orchestra of the Penitentiary System performed at their country's National Assembly on 8 February 2011. Made up of 54 inprisoned persons from different penal institutions in Venezuela, the orchestra was cited as "evidence of the government's policies of social inclusion and humanization" by Minister of the Interior and Justice, Tareck El Aissami. The orchestra is designed to reduce tension and violence within Venezuela's prison system as well as to prepare prisoners for reintegration into society on release.
