Mass Debate over Venezuela’s Socialist Plan of the Nation 2013 – 2019
From Saturday 10 November until mid-December, Venezuelans are being encouraged to participate in citizen assemblies and other mechanisms to contribute to the elaboration of President Hugo Chavez’s draft II Socialist Plan of the Nation, upon which he was re-elected as Venezuelan president.

Events to launch the debate initiative, such as this one in Guarico state, were held in regional states throughout Venezuela over the weekend 10 – 11 November (Comando Carabobo)
Venezuelan vice president Nicolas Maduro explained the different mechanisms through which the population could debate and contribute to the Socialist Plan at the initiative’s keynote launch event in Caracas, Saturday 10 November (Marcos Colina / Ciudad CCS)
Citizen assemblies are being held daily in all 22 parishes of Caracas, as well as throughout the country (APR)
Specific debates are also being held by youth groups to formulate proposals for the Socialist Plan (AVN)
