Friday April 19, 4-6pm, Sydney Town Hall
Guest speaker: Venezuelan ambassador Nelson Davila
On April 14, a majority of Venezuelans voted for the United Socialist Party of Venezuela’s presidential candidate, Nicolas Maduro. In doing so, they voted to continue the Bolivarian revolution previously led by Hugo Chávez.
In response, anti-democratic and fascist opposition forces have unleashed a wave of violence in an attempt to destablise the country. Their actions have been supported by the US government, which has been funding these forces and refuses to accept the election results
Join us to call for an immediate end to the opposition-initiated violence now occurring in Venezuela and to demand that the US and Australia government come out and accept the will of the Venezuelan people by recognise Maduro as Venezuela’s head of state.
