VSC Dayschool, Telling The Truth About Venezuela – Celebrating Democracy & Social Progress, Rebutting Media Misrepresentation

On June 23, VSC will be holding an important day school for supporters, aiming to provide people with the arguments and practical tools to take on the key myths and misrepresentations about Venezuela in the media. This event is particularly important as we will see an increase in coverage of Venezuela in the run-up to October’s crucial Presidential election, where the US are spending millions of dollars in a bid to boost Venezuela’s right-wing, anti-democratic opposition.

Confirmed participants to give briefings on key themes regarding Venezuela are Venezuelan writer and historian Henry Suarez, Alvaro Sanchez of the Venezuelan Embassy, Dr Francisco Dominguez of Middlesex University, expert on Venezuela before Chavez Michael Derham and journalist, writer and broadcaster Iain Bruce.

You can register online here – there is a small charge to cover the costs of organising the event, but if possible we would urge you to pay the ‘solidarity rate’ which includes a contribution to our crucial 2012 – Countdown to the Elections Financial Appeal – if you register in one of these options, you will also receive a free VSC solidarity badge set of 5 items.
