On Tuesday Mitsubishi workers in Venezuela protested 307 new dismissal requests by the company. This follows long strikes, occupations, and the killing of two union members last year.
The Mitsubishi plant in Anzoategui, Venezuela reopened on Monday following a month of government-mediated negotiations to solve a conflict over labor conditions. Now, workers say regional Labor Ministry functionaries and company management are colluding to depose more than 150 workers, among them key union leaders.
The Venezuelan government announced it will mediate a labor conflict at a Mitsubishi plant in Anzoategui state. The managment closed the plant indefinitely on Monday, citing labor unrest and low productivity, while workers protested against unhealthy labor conditions, and the Venezuelan Labor Inspectorate ruled the closure illegal.
After more than two months on strike, workers at the Mitsubishi plant
in Barcelona, Anzoategui state, have reached an agreement with the
plant's bosses, obtaining most of their demands.
