In the June 17 elections, anti-austerity Coalition of the Radical Left (SYRIZA) came a close second with 26.9% of the vote. In an interview with Telesur, SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras pointed to Venezuela as a model to follow to leave behind the capitalist model dominant in Europe.
