With the elections just a few days away, and a leaked document confirming what activists on the ground already knew; that the Roundtable of Democratic Unity (MUD) intends to saddle Venezuela with a neo-liberal economic program worthy of Angela Merkel's highest seal of approval; any pretensions that Capriles may have had to a “center-left” program have been well and truly disposed of.
The Venezuelan National Guard have arrested a suspected US mercenary on the Venezuela-Colombia border and are currently interrogating the unidentified man, who is of Hispanic origin, said the country's president, Hugo Chavez on Thursday.

Seeking notoriety as an international spokesman for Venezuela’s anti-Chavez sector, former Colombian President Alvaro Uribe issued baseless and malicious claims in international media aimed at isolating the Venezuelan government.
A German news website has revealed that the German government has been pushing for Eurozone countries to adopt a more active role in backing the current Venezuelan opposition coalition, the Roundtable of Democratic Unity (MUD), in the run up to this year’s presidential elections.
