Venezuela Receives 2,355 Tons of Cement from Cuba for Housing Construction

On Monday the Venezuelan government received 2,355 tons of cement in the first of nine shipments that will be sent from Cuba in order to build houses for people affected by record rains recently.

Caracas, 27 Dec. AVN .- On Monday the Venezuelan government received 2,355 tons of cement in the first of nine shipments that will be sent from Cuba in order to build houses for people affected by record rains recently.

Rogelio Polanco, Ambassador of Cuba to Venezuela, explained that this shipment is part of a total of 6,900 tons of cement that the country will receive between the first week of January and February 3, when the last cargo is expected to arrive.

Moreover, the diplomat pointed out that his country will send 500,000 square meters (310.69 square miles) of concrete roof tiles and 200,000 meters of (124.27 miles) of ceramic tiles.

Further, Cuba will donate 32,000 cushions to Venezuela, which represents close to 50% of Cuba’s reserves in this item, to distribute them among flood victims’ refuges.

“This is our contribution to the Venezuelan people in the midst of an adversity, just as Venezuela has done for the Cuban people when we have needed it,” he stated.
