Caracas, November 1, 2016 (venezuelanalysis.com) – Venezuela’s Communist Party (PCV) condemned a terrorist attack on their regional headquarters in the northeastern state of Monagas on Saturday.

The attack occurred at approximately 4:30 in the morning when unknown assailants hurled Molotov cocktails at the building, causing a fire that damaged furniture and part of the infrastructure.

“This act will in no way break our will as a political force committed to the process of national liberation and the construction of socialism in Venezuela,” declared Jesus Rafael Zambrano, head of the PCV’s Monagas regional committee.

Zambrano indicated that the PCV would be filing a legal claim with the public prosecutor’s office to investigate the incident and determine those responsible.

The episode is the latest in a series of attacks on the PCV and other left-wing organizations in recent months.

In late August, Eudis Perozo, a young community activist and son of communist campesino leader Aristobulo Perozo, was killed during a raid on their family home by state security forces operating under the government’s anti-crime offensive, known as the OLP.
