Santa Elena, March 3rd, 2015. (venezuelanalysis.com)- As the two-year anniversary of Hugo Chavez’s death approaches, a number of US-based solidarity organizations have organized rallies for a nation-wide Day of Action to celebrate the late socialist leader’s legacy and condemn US intervention in Venezuelan affairs.

Intellectuals, artists, internationalists and others who were inspired by Chavez and the movement toward 21st century socialism, will be gathering in at least nine different US cities to screen films, share stories, discuss current affairs, and march in displays of solidarity.

In New York City, activists will march on the headquarters of Human Rights Watch, joining the group of international Nobel Peace laureates and intellectuals who accuse the organization of acting as a weapon on the US state department by publishing highly biased reports on Venezuelan affairs.
