Since violent demonstrations spread nationwide on 12 February, many of Venezuela’s cities have been scarred by politically motivated vandalism. Public property including government buildings, public healthcare and state food missions have been targeted by opposition groups. Roads are pock marked with burns from flaming barricades, and garbage has been piled in the streets as fuel for the infernos.

The government has estimated well over US$1 million in damages to public property, though that figure could rise.

More details of the vandalism can be found here.
