Recycling projects in Venezuela

Recycling is starting to take off in Venezuela, though mostly on a small scale, through the initive of local environmental, educational, community, and artistic collectives. They promote recycling through workshops and by holding weekly or monthly collection days. The government is starting to promote recycling too, with some infrastructure projects including recycling bins, and the science ministry has also held some community based workshops and has started a pilot recycling project in schools. Murals in streets and schools promoting recylcing and looking after the environment are also common. Urban agricultre and composting projects complement the local projects, but more support is needed from the national government.
