March 16, 2015 The Hands Off Venezuela Campaign highlights the double standards implicit in the recent U.S. decision to brand Venezuela "an extraodinary threat" in light of  recent U.S.-backed coup efforts against progressive regional governments as well as support for repressive regimes. The only threat that Venezuela poses, the authors continue, is the "threat of being a good example", namely the the immense social gains achieved by the Bolivarian Revolution being viewed as a model by  other countries in the region and throughout the world.
