Venezuela’s Foreign Office stresses its unconditional support to the people of Nicaragua

The government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically rejects the sanctions announced by the government of the United States against the vice president of the Republic of Nicaragua, comrade Rosario Murillo, as well as against the Private Presidential Secretary Nestor Moncada.

The aforementioned unilateral coercive measures aim to undermine the stability of our sister people of Nicaragua and its constitutional government. Once again they seek to provoke scenarios of political violence and economic distortion in favour of regime change in the homeland of Sandino, violating fundamental principles established in the UN Charter.

The government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expresses its unrestricted support for and solidarity with the constitutional government of Nicaragua, in particular with President Daniel Ortega, Vice President Rosario Murillo, and Private Presidential Secretary Nestor Moncada, as well as with the Nicaraguan people. Despite such difficulties, risk, and the circumstances of struggle, the Nicaraguan people can count on the irrefutable and conditionless commitment of the people of Bolivar.
