From last Saturday through the end of this month, Venezuela’s National Electoral Council (CNE) is operating special information booths throughout the country offering voters a chance to see the electronic voting machines ahead of the presidential vote on October 7.

A total of 1,500 information booths will be set up in cities and towns throughout Venezuela to educate the electorate about the voting process.

The booths will allow voters to have direct contact with the electronic voting machines, as well as the new ballot paper and the layout of the voting centers.

The booths will be located in busy public places such as plazas, metro stations, malls, boulevards, bus stations, universities, markets, cultural centers and police stations.

The CNE will also have trained personnel in each municipality to let citizens know where they can find their local information booth and encourage them to get to know the voting system.

The regional directors of the CNE are in charge of the logistical aspects related to the installation and functioning of the booths, which will be open for 8 hours a day for 23 days (until September 30).
