“The Referendum in Venezuela shouldn’t be defended since it is in the Constitution”

The President of Brazil , Luis Inacio Lula da Silva said today that the process of a referendum in Venezuela is a legal issue and stated that he will speak about this topic next week during his official visit to Caracas.

“The referendum shouldn’t be defended since it is in the Constitution. It will occur as long as the opposition fulfills with its legal requirements”, said Lula da Silva during a breakfast with foreign journalist in the house of government in Brasilia.

Lula said that Brazil’s decision is to contribute with peace in South America and that he works to solve by consensus any political disagreement with neighbor countries.
