Compulsory voting

I am following the Bolivariana revolution with great interest and venezuelanalysis.com is a good source of information. In the wake of the referendum would it be in Chavez's interest to incorporate compulsory voting in the constitution like we have in Australia. Here although voting is compulsory the voter can vote informal either deliberately or unintentionally.
