Venezuela Celebrates Universal Children’s Day
Around 8000 children celebrated the United Nation's universal Children's Day on July 15th in Parque Los Caobos in Caracas, where local government put on a whole series of children's activities, including face painting, arts and crafts and outdoor sports.
The activities were jointly organised by the District Government for the Capital (GDC) and the Ministry for Communes and Social Protection (Mppcpc). Similar events were also organised across 22 different localities in Caracas, as well as other parts of the country.
During the celebrations in Caracas, Vice-president Elias Jaua said that Venezuela was a “pioneer” in investing in children’s wellbeing, especially in health and education.
“Our commitment is to keep advancing so that this layer of protection for the Venezuelan family remains, and to guarantee access to food, dignified housing and education for their children. It is vital that we consolidate this and make it irreversible. The revolution has a commitment to the youngest in society, that they are happy and have a future guaranteed,” he stated.
