Venezuelan Government Tree Planting Campaign

In celebration of World Environment Day on June 5th, the Venezuelan Environment Ministry initiated a tree planting campaign in Warairarepano National Park that will take place every weekend during its first phase between now and October.

In celebration of World Environment Day on June 5th, the Venezuelan Environment Ministry initiated a tree planting campaign in Warairarepano National Park that will take place every weekend during its first phase between now and October. Teams of ministry personnel, National Guard troops, and community volunteers from Caracas barrios aspire to plant 120,000 trees of 47 different species on 312.4 hectares (772 acres) of national park land that were affected by forest fires during the recent extended dry season.
