Directed by Efterpi Charalambidis. A light-hearted story about a Caracas
motorcycle-taxi man, Libertador Morales, whose crusade against corruption and
crime (a big issue in Caracas) makes him into an unlikely hero. In Spanish, with
English subtitles. Running time: 1 hour 45 minutes

Bloques [Apartment Blocks] (2008)

Directed by Alfredo Hueck and Carlos Caridad. Manuel is a lonely and
unsocial man living in Block 1. His behaviour keeps everyone at a distance, including
his own son. Amid his daily routine and the occasional drink, he finds happiness in a
new love, who comes into his life without realising it. In Spanish, with English
subtitles. Running time: 1 hour 27 minutes.

Perros Corazones (2008)

Written and directed by Carmen La Roche. A mother’s failure to deal
with her son’s death and her ensuing difficulties in relating to the world are mirrored
by a fraught dog-breeding project. In Spanish, with English subtitles. Running time: 1
