Venezuela’s Communist Party Culminates Conference, Ratifies Support for Hugo Chavez

The Venezuelan Communist Party celebrated its XIV Congress in Caracas (Aporrea).

On Sunday the Venezuelan Communist Party (PCV) concluded its XIV Congress in Caracas following 3 days of discussions. Over 526 national delegates and 43 international representatives attended the conference, which was convened in conjunction with the PCV’s 74th anniversary.

Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez’s call for a renewed coalition of leftist political parties and social movements was praised on Monday by the Venezuelan Communist Party (PCV). Chávez announced the rebirth of the Polo Patriótico, or Patriotic Pole, this past Sunday on his weekly television program Aló Presidente.
