The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, in the name of the Bolivarian people and government, expresses his deepest solidarity with the people and government of the Islamic Republic of Iran with respect to the violent protests that have taken place in that country, and which have been encouraged from outside, with the goal of destabilising the internal peace of our sister Iranian nation.

The Bolivarian government repudiates the interference of the US government, and denounces the attempts of the Trump administration, along with its ally Israel, to take advantage of the internal situation in Iran to foment and provoke, artificially, destabilising actions to the detriment of the sovereignty and independence of the people, just like they have done in Venezuela.

The Bolivarian people, faithful to their peaceful, anti-imperialist and anti-interventionist tradition, urge the international community to respect the sovereignty of the Iranian nation and to abstain from intervening in the internal affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It is up to the wise Iranian people to internally resolve, in a peaceful way, the important matters for their wellbeing and prosperity.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, reiterating its most sincere feeling of solidarity towards the Islamic Republic of Iran, hopes that the people and government of this brother country continue to build and consolidate their own sovereign model, without the intervention of any external power.
